What To Wear: Poncho Please !

What to Wear

The perfect wintertime piece this year is indeed a poncho! I can not tell you how many ponchos I have seen this winter! Ponchos are perfect for dressing ones outfit up while staying simple. Ponchos are great for any occasion, I decided to show mine off at class today.

I decided to go for the clean/sophisticated look by wearing an all black outfit. Underneath my poncho I am wearing a long sleeve turtleneck. This looks great with the all black knit poncho that I layered over it. For pants I went for a simple and comfy look since I will be sitting in class all day so I threw on a pair of my favorite black leggings. For my shoes I went with the classic black combat boots since it’s very cold and snowy here in Michigan. To spice up my look I added a small quilted Michael Kors purse and some dark brown lipsticks that I have paired together.

One Simple Change: To make this outfit a day to night look I would swap out the combat boots for some knee high boots giving it more of a night out look.

What To Wear:Graphic Tees & Joggers Please

What to Wear

Who says that joggers are just for men? I personally prefer joggers over jeans any day! These stylish yet laid back comfy joggers make an appearance at least once a week from my wardrobe. I usually stick to a casual attire when wearing joggers because lets face it they are loose and comfy like sweatpants. I think this is my biggest draw to them because one doesn’t look lazy when wearing them like one would when wearing sweats or yogas.

I keep this outfit simple and laid back by pairing it with a cut off graphic tee. Over the top I threw on an oversized knitted cardigan that makes the outfit much more desirable. To add a pop of color I added my burgundy Vans. This outfit is very easy and simple for one to mimic themselves which really makes it the perfect ensemble. One can even add a beanie or accessories to this outfit to dress it up more than what I have!

To achieve this look one must grab some joggers like I am sporting from Pacsun, a simple graphic cut off tee like mine from Urban Outfitters, an oversized knitted sweater similar to mine from Zara, and lastly some colored shoes like mine from Vans.

What To Wear:Layer Me Up

What to Wear

When in doubt, layer it out! Lets just say that layering is one of the most downright basic necessities when it comes to this Winter season. To stay warm and stylish this winter one must indulge in the layering concept. I know for me layering is an easy way to stay warm and cozy but still fashionable.

Where to even begin! Start off with a simple shirt or go bold and grab something more exciting. I paired this simple long tan shirt with an oversized mens XL button up shirt. Since I like the style of loose clothing I decided to tie the sides of the shirt so I wasn’t swimming in it. Cuff the sleeves a couple times and vuala, you have yourself the perfect throw over shirt! The throw over shirt has yellow and burgundy detail so I decided to match my accessories to keep myself looking put together. Add a pair of your favorite black skinny jeans and you have yourself the perfect layering attire.

If one wants to dress this look up switch out the bulky knit scarf for some long layering necklaces like this one from Stella & Dot and pair this look with these adorable tie-up ballerina flats from Macy’s! Don’t forget an oversized clutch and ones ready to go!

What To Wear: Interview Ready

What to Wear

If preparing for an interview isn’t stressful enough one has to find the time to put an acceptable ensemble together. Depending on the type of job one is applying for determines what’s appropriate. Since I myself am having trouble finding the perfect interview attire I decided to put a couple outfits together.

Like I’ve stated before, each job interview is going to be different so these outfits might not work for everyone. Starting with the outfit on the left, the tweed straight line pants are one of my favorite pieces. The outside trim is lined with leather giving it the perfect touch. I paired these dress slacks with a cream mid sleeve turtle neck. One could even throw a blazer over this to dress it up more! Now depending on the type of interview determines the shoes. I paired 3 types of shoes: black leather booties, open toed heels, and a pair of simple booties. The heels are a little more risky for the ensemble but it all depends on the job.

The outfit on my right is a grey turtleneck, calf length, ribbed dress. I would throw some black tights on underneath for a classier piece. The black blazer gives it the sophistication it desires. I love this ensemble with the black simple booties. This outfit is simple yet put together. When going to an interview I try not to wear a lot of jewelry. I stick with usually just a watch. But, I threw a couple bracelets together to show how you can keep an outfit simple but still accessorized.

I hope these style tips help one make the most fashionable yet appropriate decision when it comes to that special moment!
